Snorkel the Great Barrier Reef off the Daintree Rainforest

The tour begins at Turtle Rock Café, where the Ocean Safari crew will check you in. You will then head off for a brief, short walk to Myall Beach, where you will board Ocean Safaris exciting speed boat. You will then begin the journey out to the Great Barrier Reef, on a 25-minute scenic trip off the Daintree Rainforest coast. Here you’ll visit two different snorkel destinations including Mackay and Undine Reef. Snorkel the Great Barrier Reef and experience the extraordinary marine environment.

What you will see

On this trip you can snorkel alongside sea turtles, which are found in abundance swimming over reefs full of colourful coral, along with myriads of tropical fish, eagle rays, giant clams and starfish. Often the coastal rainforest of the Daintree can be seen along the mainland beach whilst snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef, two world heritage areas side by side. The experienced Skipper and Eco Host ensure the trip is filled with fun and appreciation of the Great Barrier Reef and the coastal rainforest of the Daintree.

What time are the tours and when can I check-in?

MORNING TOUR: 8:30am to 12:30pm. Check in time for the morning tour begins at 7.40am. We suggest that any guests making their own way to arrive no later than 8.00am.

AFTERNOON TOUR: 12:30pm to 4:30pm. Check in time for the afternoon tour begins at 11.40am. We suggest that any guests making their own way arrive no later than 12.00pm.

How can I complete the express check in?

In preparation for your day please use your booking surname or booking reference and the link below to complete your ‘Ocean Safari Express Check-in’. Each passenger travelling over the age of 18 will need to complete their own Express Check-in. This should only take you a few minutes to complete (any passengers travelling under the age of 18 will have to be signed for by an adult).

Do you offer an accommodation pick- up and drop-off transfer service?

Yes we can offer a courtesy pick up and drop off from within the local Cape Tribulation area. Any guests travelling from outside of this area including Cairns, Port Douglas and Daintree Village will need to self-drive. Please let our office staff know if you’d like courtesy transfers by calling +61 7 4098 0006.

What if I am travelling from Port Douglas or Cairns to join Ocean Safari?

If you are self-driving or would like to self-drive to our office, we have plenty of secure onsite parking available at no cost. If you are travelling from Port Douglas or Cairns please ensure you check your travel times. We request that you add 45 min travel time to each of the suggested routes to allow for any delays that may occur along the way, including wait time at the Daintree River Ferry Crossing.
